I'm Leslie Valladolid, an architect and designer from Peru, now building my career and life here in the United States. I came with experience and plenty of motivation, but I learned quickly that starting over means more than learning a language, it means learning a whole new system, making new connections, rebuilding your network, and finding your place all over again. ​ It hasn't always been easy. There were moments that felt overwhelming, and what carried me through wasn't just persistence, it was staying open, asking for help, and seeking out the support available. ​ That's why RUTS means so much to me. I know firsthand the difference it makes when someone reaches out, offers support, and reminds you that you're not alone. I want to be that for others, helping turn the hard parts of starting over into something hopeful.
